I just use microfiber clothes that I press into the holes of my old swiffer. I create a very weak solution of my cleaner, dip in, attach, wet mop and toss it into the dirty clothes. It's very easy and cost effective.

I have actually been using an alternative to the Swiffer Cloths for several years, even before my transition to being green. I have always used old washcloths to clean with, so I have a cabinet full of them. One day it occurred to me that they could easily be attached to the swiffer sweeper and used wet or dry. I even clean my wood floors with them. The type of cleaner you put on them is really up to you, but this is a very effective method.

i would love to share with you what i found the other day, but as it is not a seventh generation product, i don't believe it would be right. but there is something out there that is exactly like it, only its way better then swiffer. same idea, and pretty much the same idea as what the other 2 posts are!

I use old towels or t shirts soaked in tea tree oil and laveder oil, it cleans and smells good!!!! or you could spray Seventh Generation all purpose cleaner on a towel and attach it to your mop, I've done both and they work great.

I've been looking for an alternative to my swiffer. I'm totally surprised that I haven't thought of this myself. It will be a wonderful alternative to the chemicals contained in the swiffer wet cloths. I have just started going green. My town has just started a recycling program. I have been enjoying the Seventh Generation products since I purchased them the other day. I now need to find who sells your diapers.

I just use washable microfiber cloths. I saved a tub the right shape & let the cloths soak in a slightly diluted mixture of the Wild Orange & Cedar Spice Kitchen Cleaner.

I too agree that 7th Generation should make a product similar to the Swiffer or Method. Make the mop itself out of recycled materials and then have reusable or biodegradeable cloths...or have the option of both. Swiffer's cloths smell horrible and you know they are filled with chemicals. I also feel like I use so many to clean my floors and its such a waste. I like the comments about using microfiber cloths with my current swiffer mop...I will definetly try that! Thanks.

If you don't already have a Swiffer you are trying to reuse you can purchase mops with reusable microfiber heads, these are a little thicker than the regular micro fiber cloths.
